The Sunshine Foundation at Rob’s Place was created to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide a supportive environment where participants can continue living meaningful and fulfilling lives through learning, socializing, creativity, and community volunteering after graduation.
Our nonprofit foundation helps cover essential needs such as supplies, outings, and support for clients waiting on their waiver. Looking ahead, we hope to expand opportunities even further by providing a wheelchair-accessible mini bus, ensuring every individual we serve has access to enriching experiences.

The Sunshine Foundation was established in 2022, just two years after the opening of Rob’s Place in Forsyth. Rob’s Place began with a simple but important mission: to provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who, after graduation, often found themselves at home with limited options for social connection or growth.
When Rob’s Place opened its doors in April 2020, we welcomed just two or three participants. Today, in 2025, we’ve had the privilege of serving more than 40 individuals, ages 13 to 72.
Rob’s Place continues to be a safe and welcoming space where adults with disabilities can build lasting friendships, explore new skills, and give back through weekly volunteer opportunities in the community.
Rob’s Place, & our non profit The Sunshine Foundation at Rob’s Place, was created to serve individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities.
We provide a place where they can continue to have meaningful and productive lives by learning, socializing, being creative, & volunteering in their community after graduation. Our non-profit foundation helps us with funding needed for clients waiting on their waiver, supplies, outings, & in the near future we hope to be able to provide a wheelchair accessible mini bus for more opportunities for all of the people we serve. We could not do any of this without our generous community.
